About me…

My name is Cameron McFadden, and I’ve lived in Astoria for 14 years.

After playing bass guitar in rock bands as a teenager, I taught myself to play violin when I was 17. I played for two years in the San Francisco State University Symphony, 1976 to 1978, under conductor Laszlo Varga, where I had lessons from Eugene Gratovich.  After a long career in computer technologies, I resumed playing the violin, and began teaching in 2006.  I am currently studying with Allison Mcneal, and I am an active member of NY Late Starters Orchestra.     I have completed the S.A.A. training requirements for teaching Suzuki Books 1, 2, and 3.  I teach only in my neighborhood in Astoria, Queens.
